My fellow Americans, this was a freedom-loving, fantastic, faith-filled, we're taking America back, one heart, one mind, one issue at a time, Friday. The good doctor was in the house, Dr. Scott Bradley, freedomsrisingsun.com, with his weekly webinars and his Collegiate Series to preserve the nation. We covered Benjamin Netanyahu, shenanigans in the Alaska Senate race, predictions for the midterms, the bounds of presidential power, Utah citizen initiatives, and Linda McMahon's education department furniture mess.
Israel's Election and Netanyahu's Dangerous Lame Duck Moment
Dr. Bradley set the stage on how Israeli elections work. Their Knesset has 120 seats, and a party has to get 61 seats or build a coalition with other parties. People vote for parties openly over there. I told him, wait a minute, they do that in America too, Doctor, except we pretend otherwise with the R or the D.
Benjamin Netanyahu did not get the major majority he hoped for, and all bets are off. Behind the scenes there is arm twisting and manipulating to see who can get enough mojo to tip it their way in a backhanded partisan way more than a what-people-voted-for way. Dr. Bradley said Netanyahu remains caretaker prime minister while they sort it out, and that could take weeks. If they can't get a coalition, another election could take months, maybe three months, and Netanyahu keeps his seat during that time.
That worries me. A lame duck prime minister with a tendency to pull the trigger and ask about later is a bad thing. Add Donald Trump saying after our midterms he is going to bring the war to a conclusion by launching more attacks, and I said that is talking out of both sides of his mouth. If you escalate attacks, the likelihood of a conclusion is slim. That just means more war.
Dr. Bradley predicted Netanyahu will continue to be prime minister, at least six more months. I predicted if he squeaks by and twists arms to get the majority, he will become more dictatorial. It reminds me of kings of old in the Bible, jealous and hostile to anyone they felt was a threat. Ladies and gentlemen, what we're seeing on the world stage is crazy town.
Presidential Power Is Not a Magic Wand
Commander-in-chief applies when there is a war, but we have not gone through the constitutional process. I told him, we don't have a war yet. He is commander-in-chief of nothing right now. Executive orders are not law. Washington could give executive orders, but nothing that created new law or cranked up new government entities.
Alaska Senate Shenanigans and Midterm Predictions
In Alaska, sitting Senator Dan Sullivan is on the ballot. Then another Dan Sullivan, a fisherman, shows up on the ballot with the same name, different middle initial. I said one side put him there to create confusion. They are being accused of it and saying it is immoral, but it is not illegal. So why deny it? Why not just say, yeah, we are, of course we are?
Dr. Bradley said if the Democrats had such confidence in Mary Peltola, they would not need to go dig up another Dan Sullivan. I said if it is a close race, enough people choosing the wrong intended Dan might swing the election. Everybody knows full well what this is.
But it could backfire. Dr. Bradley said Alaskans are independent-minded people, and this may cost Mary the election. Some may even vote for the other Dan Sullivan on purpose. He also pointed out that the sitting Dan Sullivan voted 14 times to not put a stop to the Iran war. That is good enough reason for a lot of people to not want to vote for him.
Then we talked midterms. Dr. Bradley said the Republicans are going to get spanked, and the bad news is the Democrats are going to do it. He believes Democrats will gain the House, and the Senate is up in the air with a high probability they gain that too. He said much of this is self-inflicted.
I brought up George Washington's Farewell Address, because he warned that parties turn into factions. We are seeing exactly that. The party's over, ladies and gentlemen. Until we declare the parties over, these good old boy special privilege private-sector organizations will keep pulling the levers of power and locking the rest of us out.
The danger is people are so sick and tired of being sick and tired that they say throw the bums out, without thinking about consequences. Dr. Bradley said they may put democratic socialists in office and cut the guts out of limited government. The proper scale is the United States Constitution, not the party scale, not the I'm-a-Trumper-or-not-a-Trumper scale. If you vote for baboons, buffoons, and bozos, what are you going to get?
Utah Citizen Initiatives and Democracy Trouble
I said it is as dangerous as all get out. You are taking away delegated legislative authority, violating checks and balances, watering down the constitutional republic, and making it more like a democracy. The outcome will be failure, confusion, disruption, sadness, and eventually loss of liberty.
On the Utah ballot, folks are left with choices where neither one is good. I said we need a "none of the above" box. If enough people voted none of the above, it would go away, and we could do something different.
Linda McMahon and the Education Department Furniture
My question is simple: if we are getting rid of the Education Department, why do we need to move to smaller digs, and why do we need furniture at all?
Dr. Bradley gave the bottom line answer: they are not getting rid of the Education Department. They are relocating responsibilities to other departments and calling it downsizing. I called it smoke and mirrors. What department have we really gotten rid of or seriously downsized? Even things Trump supposedly downsized through DOGE have mostly been challenged by courts or quietly reversed.
