Election Day Barn Burner and the Betrayal of Voters

Liberty RoundTable, Tuesday, November 3, 2026
By Sam Bushman

My fellow Americans, happy to have you along. I was joined today by James Edwards, well-known political talk show host at thepoliticalcesspool.org, and Lew Moore, former congressional chief of staff, author of Forerunner: The Unlikely Role of Ron Paul, host of Hour of Decision, and head of the Secure Utah Vote Initiative at securevote.news.

Election Day and Ron Paul's Reality Check

The polls are open, ladies and gentlemen, and Americans are voting with control of Congress at stake. This is an historic election, to say the least. All 435 House seats are at stake, along with 35 Senate seats and 36 governorships. It is the most expensive midterms on record ever: $12 billion.

Ron Paul had the best quote of the day: "Republicans deserve to lose. But Democrats do not deserve to win." Amen to that reality check. I said the real question I want folks to ponder is this: can Christianity and communism coexist? I think not.

I told James and Lew right off the bat that I am not going to vote. I know people say, "Sam, you're derelict in your duty," and "How dare you?" My response is, I can't vote for people that are members of parties because parties are criminal. Ron Paul's point is spot on. The economy and the war are why Republicans deserve to lose, but Democrats offer an unacceptable alternative: expanded welfare programs, single-payer health care, higher taxes, continued support for military aid. Neither party offers liberty, limited constitutional government, sound money, or an appropriate constitutional foreign policy. They're both clown shows.

Early Voting Trouble and Broken Promises

Lew said the fundamentals are terrible for the GOP. The GOP is getting out their best voters early, while Democrats are banking on low-propensity voters, and that is the name of the game in an off-year election. He said all the intensity measurements go to the Democrats, and a lot of Republicans feel betrayed. The war was a total betrayal, and the war has caused a terrible economic climate. That is a toxic combination.

Lew also said pollsters are showing as high as 20 percent defections from people who voted for Trump who are going to vote for at least one Democrat for Congress. Then there are the people not voting at all, which may be the biggest problem the GOP faces.

I said it's turning out to be a clown show. I don't know if Donald Trump has lost his step, if he's too old, if it's self-destruction, or what's going on. But item after item, topic after topic, he has destroyed everything he ran on. I don't believe that can be by accident.

MAGA, War, Epstein, and the Circular Firing Squad

That Epstein betrayal matters. Promises were made and promises were not kept. I said you have to wonder what is happening with the Jeffrey Epstein cartel now. Even if he is dead, when a cartel leader leaves, whether it's a sex cartel, drug cartel, whatever, somebody fills the vacuum. I submit the gang leader is just a new person. The new boss is the old boss.

Lew pointed to Thomas Massey and Marjorie Taylor Greene pushing on Epstein and said emails showed Epstein representing himself as a representative of the Rothschild family. I said that brings up another betrayal: kicking out Thomas Massey and Greene. Those are some of the best people we had.

James said today looks like the end of MAGA as a political movement. He said Trump did not leave an ideological bench, and the people who believed in what he campaigned on got primaried or removed. I pushed back a little: I don't think Massey and Greene went against Trump. I think they held true to MAGA and what was promised. He went against them.

Lew said if you are looking at outside forces, the Israel lobby, organized Jewry in America, and the Zionist movement were the greatest beneficiaries of the destruction of the MAGA coalition. That coalition was a bulwark against more Mideast wars and against globalism. He also said the Libertarian in Texas is polling at five percent, and Ken Paxton cannot lose five percent in this cycle.

Calling Winners After the Game Is Over

I talked about news organizations explaining their standards for calling midterm winners. The Associated Press now says it declares a winner only when the trailing candidate cannot catch up. I asked Lew, "Isn't that brilliant?" He said it took three geniuses to come up with that one.

Decision Desk HQ now requires unanimous agreement from its decision team and approval from its "data science head." James joked they are declaring a winner after the game is over. I said it's amazing they have just come to this, and I don't know that we can trust them to hold that standard.

Races, Seats, and a Country on a Knife's Edge

Lew said the House is gone, bye-bye. The Senate has 11 races close enough to go either way, and almost every one could go Democrat. I said I'm predicting seven out of 11 go Democrat. Lew said the wind is at their back.

James and Lew looked at Michigan, Texas, Ohio, Florida, Tennessee, Mississippi, South Carolina, and more. James is watching Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, Tallarico against Paxton in Texas, David Hatley running as an independent for governor of Tennessee, and Vivek Ramaswamy against Amy Acton in Ohio. Lew said the South Carolina Senate situation is insane, especially when a candidate asked about the Taiwan Straits and China said she was not really into foreign policy. He said, "I'm 71 years old. This is the craziest election I have ever witnessed."

I said the gloves are coming off, and folks like Lew Moore, Sam Bushman, and James Edwards might just be tossed in the clink if this thing goes the way it looks.

Tonight's Election Roundtable

I thank James Edwards of thepoliticalcesspool.org and Lew Moore of securevote.news. James said he loved us and joked that I'll be broadcasting about 16 hours a day by the time it's all said and done. He may be right.
