My fellow Americans, happy to have you along. You say you love the drink Orange Crush. They're coming out with a new one. It's called Blue Crush. I'm just kidding. Sad to say, ladies and gentlemen, the Democrats do control both chambers of Congress. Everybody and their dog is a lame duck. With me today were the good Sheriff, Sheriff Richard Mack, president and founder of the Constitutional Sheriffs and Peace Officers Association at CSPOA.org, Alex Newman of LibertySentinel.org, and Buddy Mason with Revelation Gold Group.
The Election Spanking
I asked Alex Newman for his unadulterated comments on last night, and he said, "We're in big trouble." He said God is the one who raises up kings, but if we're honest, "we are reaping what we have sown." Our pulpits have not preached the whole counsel of God. We have outsourced the raising of our children to people who hate God, hate our system of government, and hate our liberty. Alex said as long as we keep allowing 85% of our children to be indoctrinated that way, this is the inevitable result.
I brought up Scott Jennings' silver lining. Back in the 2010s, Barack Obama took a massive defeat, and the Republicans picked up even more than the Democrats have now. But Obama responded well and got reelected in 2012. Just as it turned around for the Democrats in the last 18 months, it can turn around that fast again if we learn our lessons. The real question is, will we learn the lessons?
Sheriff Mack was too depressed to give his normal happy greeting. He said the American people have been duped, and Republicans are part of the problem. He said Trump's biggest mistake was not following through, especially on education. Get rid of the Department of Education. The federal government should not be involved in education whatsoever.
Morality, Abortion and the Real Solution
Sheriff Mack asked Alex what the biggest threat to the country is, and before Alex had to leave, Sheriff brought up Idaho. Idaho had a voter proposition about abortion, and last night it looked like abortion on demand was winning by about 10%. Alex had the good news: Proposition 1 did not pass, so the ban on most of the murder of unborn babies is still in place. Praise the Lord for that.
We need to stop the wholesale murder of innocents. We got rid of Roe versus Wade, and that was a good start. Now we have abortion pills and everything else. We have a lot of work to do. We need to be anxiously engaged in a good cause. We don't have time to have a tear in our beer, not that I drink beer anyway. I don't need to worry about the nation. God's got that. I need to worry about what I am doing.
The Party's Over
Sheriff Mack said Buddy touched on the warning from President George Washington in his Farewell Address about parties in general. Parties are not part of our government. They are not guaranteed in the Constitution except under freedom of expression. Sheriff said Washington warned us that we would turn over the reins of government to unprincipled, ambitious, cunning, and in his opinion totally corrupt people.
I said that is tragic, but reality. That is why I reject party. I have gotten to the point where I refuse to vote for anybody who is part of a party, and therefore I do not really have many people to vote for these days. If you read George Washington's Farewell Address, you realize parties will destroy the country. The longer we vote for parties, the more we will destroy the country. Parties turn into factions, and that is what we are seeing now.
Ron Paul had the best headline: Republicans deserve to lose, but Democrats don't deserve to win. Neither agenda really embraced the liberty agenda. This is about character, checks and balances, dual sovereignty, local autonomy and authority, and states telling the federal government to fly a kite when it is involved in things it ought not be.
Markets, Tariffs and the Samurai Sword
My view is a big reason was less tariff tampering. It is one thing for Congress to set steady, constant, appropriate tariffs, which I support because they are constitutional. It is another for Donald Trump to run around like he has got a big samurai sword with tariffs. I think the markets are looking for certainty again.
Buddy said markets do not like uncertainty. They would rather have good news or bad news than no news. He agreed that some decisions calm markets down, though last night is not going to fix the big uncertainty.
Gold, Silver and Honest Money
Buddy Mason came on from Revelation Gold Group, and we talked constitutional currency. Buddy said global conflicts, wars, trade wars, and all the fancy words like geopolitical uncertainty really mean this: "the world's a big fat mess." Combine that with inflation and the fact that we just eclipsed $40 trillion in national debt, and people are looking for a safe haven.
Sheriff asked about the digital dollar. Buddy said it has been tabled, but there are reservations about how that could be not such a good thing. I said it is no different than the fiat dollar. It is all fake money. It will never replace constitutional currency. I think the digital dollar is sitting on the 10-yard line, ready for a sneak attack right up the middle. These lame ducks will move that ball forward, so keep an eye on that.
Buddy gave a great example. Two thousand years ago, a Roman Centurion could buy a nice outfit, belt and sandals with an ounce of gold. One hundred fifty years ago, an ounce of gold bought a nice tailored suit, belt and shoes. Today, at about $4,000 an ounce, it still buys a pretty nice suit, belt and shoes. The same ounce of gold holds value. That is not true of the American dollar.
