The violence carried out by the drug cartels along the U.S. and Mexican border has been increasing over the years, and has residents living in the area in almost constant fear. Now they have even more to worry about. Several of the cartels have been routinely using drones to move their products across the border from Mexico into the United States. They also use explosive devices like IEDs to wage war on rival gangs and the police. Now, at least one cartel is taking it a step further by weaponizing their drones and making them capable of transporting explosives into the U.S. cities. The big worry for homeland security is that if the cartel is paid enough it could let a terrorist group use that technology.
