Trump Says He Won’t Fire Mueller

Aug 11, 2017

President Trump said that does not have plans to fire special counsel Robert Mueller. "I haven't given it any thought. I've been reading about it from you people, you say I'm going to dismiss him. No, I'm not dismissing anybody," the president said. He added that he wanted the House and Senate to issue their reports to the public. The Senate is working on a bi-partisan bill that would forbid President Trump from firing the special counsel. The legislation stems from newspaper reports that reported Trump was seeking to dismiss the special counsel so that the Russia investigation would be prevented. In the past the president said that if the investigation crossed the line into investigating the Trump organization it would have gone too far.
