One of the major criticisms of the failed Republican plans to repeal and replace Obamacare came as a result of predictions by the Congressional Budget Office that millions of Americans would lose their insurance of the plans were adopted. The figures from this supposedly non-partisan source were questionable at best since they kept changing and the CBO predictions about the original Obamacare had been completely wrong.
The fact is that the highly unpopular mandate under Obamacare that requires Americans to get health insurance or pay a fine has resulted in 6.5 million Americans paying the fine. The projected number of Americans that would supposedly lose their insurance under the Republican plan includes those people plus an estimated 10 million more people who would choose not to have insurance at all.
