In a video featuring a former Venezuela National Guard officer standing in front of a group of about 20 armed men there is an open call made by them for all out rebellion against the socialist government of Nicolas Maduro. This follows the election of the so-called Constituent Assembly; a group of people hand-picked by the dictator to change the constitution and give him complete authority and control over the country.
The call seems to have been heeded by some people since a military base was attacked over the weekend and while the government says the attack was repelled, it admits some weapons were stolen by the attackers. Since the election, which most citizens boycotted, violence has erupted at multiple locations.
