Los Angeles Pays $1.3 billion to Illegals in Two Years

Aug 7, 2017

Illegal aliens flock to sanctuary cities to be protected by local authorities from arrest and deportation by federal agencies. However, there is another major reason they head to sanctuary cities like Los Angeles; they get lots of free stuff at American taxpayer expense. According to data obtained from the Los Angeles Department of Public Social Services the county paid out $1.3 billion in welfare benefits to illegal immigrant families in 2015 through 2016.

These benefits include food stamps and other welfare payments and 64,000 families received such benefits in 2016. However, due to a crackdown on illegal immigration by the Trump administration the numbers seem to be falling so far this year.
