Political Correctness In London

Jul 17, 2017

London politicians are seeking ways to become more inclusive. The latest scheme involves replacing “ladies and gentlemen” with “everyone” and “all.” "We want everyone to feel welcome on our transport network," Mark Evers, director of Transport for London's customer strategy. The push to do away with “ladies and gentlemen” was pushed by London’s LGBT community of activists. "Language is extremely important to the lesbian, gay, bi and trans community, and the way we use it can help ensure all people feel included," said a spokesperson for Stonewall, an LGBT charity. London’s Muslim Mayor Sadiq Kahn supports the gender inclusive language. Perhaps as a “precedent and groundwork for future blasphemy laws.”
