Senator Hates Outsourcing But Is Okay With It In Family Business

Jul 17, 2017

Indiana Senator Joe Donnelly is a critic of outsourcing, even calling it “a fancy term for someone in Indiana [who] has just lost their job.” The senator is even sponsoring the “End Outsourcing Act.” However, the senator became heavily invested in his family’s ink business about the time the business “moved some of its manufacturing of ink stamp pads to a factory” in Mexico five years ago. A spokesman for the company said that it was the only way the business could stay competitive. Donnelly has been reporting on his financial disclosure forms that he’s been earning up to $50,000 a year in dividends off of his stock. UPDATE: On Friday, it was reported that Senator Donnelly sold stock in his family company.
