Trump Gets Money for Border Wall

Jul 14, 2017

A House Appropriations Committee allocated $1.6 billion to a wall on the U.S.-Mexican border on Wednesday. “Keeping Americans safe by protecting our homeland is a top priority. This funding bill provides the resources to begin building a wall along our southern border, enhance our existing border security infrastructure, hire more border patrol agents, and fund detention operations, “ said Chairman John Carter. President Trump will be able to tell his base of supporters that another promise has been kept at least in part. It remains to be be seen if President Trump will find a way to get the country of Mexico to pay directly or indirectly for the wall. Senator Kamala Harris of California vowed to block funding for the wall calling it a “waste of money.”
