The House Appropriations Committee has given a major victory to President Donald Trump’s campaign promise to build a wall along the border with Mexico to stem the tide of illegal aliens, drugs, guns, and human trafficking crossing the southern border. The committee approved the entire $1.6 billion appropriation needed to begin construction of the wall.
Of course, this is only the beginning. Now the appropriation must pass the entire House of Representatives, which may not be a sure thing because some Republicans oppose it, and all of the Democrats want an open border. The same is true in the Senate.
