During the last two years of his second term as President Barack Obama signed an executive order creating the DACA program, also known as the DREAMer’s program. It allows over 800,000 illegals who were brought into the United States as children to apply for work permits and stay in the country.
Now at least nine other states have joined the State of Texas in preparing a lawsuit in federal court to challenge the Executive Order as an unconstitutional abuse of power by Obama. Even defenders of the program are acknowledging that the premise of the suit is probably correct, and that Obama had no authority to issue such an order. The suit will probably be successful.
