What A Bummer. Power Washing Human Excrement Is A Microaggression

Jul 13, 2017

The area around King County Superior Courthouse is ripe with the smell of human waste. The many social services organizations in the area attract a large contingent of homeless individuals. Concerned for cleanliness and sanitation, two judges have asked that the city clean up the sidewalks. But being the liberal city that Seattle is, one deep thinking city councilman fears that cleaning the sidewalk might be a microaggression. Councilman Larry Gossett said “he didn’t like the idea of power-washing the sidewalks because it brought back images of the use of hoses against civil-rights activists.” Construing that cleaning a sidewalk to rid it of human waste is somehow racist or insensitive is just nuts.
