Texas Teenager Fired for Buying a Brownie for a Police Officer

Jul 11, 2017

A teenager working at the Great American Cookies store in Katy, Texas spent his own money to pay for a brownie for a uniformed police officer. Someone in line behind the officer became enraged over this, threatened to beat up the teenager, called him a racist, and vowed to get him fired because they claimed they were entitled to free brownies too. Rather than defend their employee, who had just been threatened, the store suspended him.

The public backlash has been overwhelming to say the least, and the store has since apologized publically and offered to give the 18 year old his job back. There is no word yet if the offer has been accepted.
