The New York Times reported on Sunday that Donald Trump Jr. met with an attorney with connections to Russia. The attorney was promising to provide damaging information about Hillary Clinton. Three members of the Trump campaign met with the attorney to hear her out. Trump Jr., said that he was asked by a mutual acquaintance to meet with the attorney. So far there is no evidence that Trump Jr. knew he was speaking with an agent of the Russian government. According to Trump Jr., the attorney was unable to provide any information about Hillary Clinton and went on to speak about Russian adoptions.
The meeting ended after 20 or 30 minutes. A spokesman for President Trump’s legal team said, “…we have learned that the person who sought the meeting is associated with Fusion GPS, a firm which according to public reports, was retained by Democratic operatives to develop opposition research on the President and which commissioned the phony Steele dossier.”
