Teen Suspended For Buying Brownie For Police Officer

Jul 10, 2017

Zack Randolph works for Great American Cookies at the Katy Mills Mall in Texas. He purchased a brownie at full price with his own money for an officer who regularly patrols the mall. “He’s just a really nice guy and on top of that he has a badge. That’s enough for me to buy him something. That’s the least I can do,” said Randolph. Apparently feeling entitled, the next customers in line asked for a free dessert. And when denied, they got upset. One of the customers went so far as to almost come behind the counter. He was stopped by the assistant manager and a co-worker. The company wrote up Randolph and suspended him for a week and threatened him with being fired if he did something like that again. News of the injustice spread rapidly on social media and Great American Cookies reversed the suspension and write up saying, “We owe the employee an apology.”
