According to reports by the Department of Homeland Security and the FBI the attempts by hackers to compromise American nuclear facilities have not abated. The attacks are almost constant and their origins are still unknown. So far the hackers have not succeeded in doing anything to disrupt the facilities, but that is probably the ultimate goal.
Cybersecurity experts have been saying for years that America is woefully behind in protecting our computer networks from cyberattacks. This applies not only to nuclear facilities, but to government networks at all levels and American financial institutions.
