ISIS Defeated in Mosul

Jul 10, 2017

It was certainly notan easy victory, but three years after it was captured by the Islamic State the Iraqi city of Mosul has been liberated by the Iraqi army backed by special forces units from the American military as well as artillery and air support. This represents a major blow to the vicious terrorist group and comes when U.S. backed Kurd and free Syrian forces have surrounded the de facto ISIS capital in Raqqa, Syria.

These defeats will hopefully have a negative impact on the ability of the Islamic extremist group to recruit fighters from other countries, train them, and then send them back to their country of origin to engage in acts of terrorism.
