Baltimore Schools Failing Students

May 19, 2017

Not a single student is proficient in math and English in six Baltimore City schools. "That's absurd to me," says Janel Nelson, the mother of one Frederick Douglass student. "That's your teacher's report card, ultimately." Teacher’s unions constantly pressure states to spend more on education. However, Baltimore schools spend $16,000 per student, the fourth highest in the nation. More money is not delivering better education. One student said, “The tests are harder than what we’re learning in class.”
