Moving to fulfill another of his campaign promises President Donald Trump has informed members of Congress that he is renegotiating the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) with Canada and Mexico. During his campaign he was highly critical of the treaty because he claimed it took jobs away from American workers and hurt American businesses. A few weeks ago Trump announced he was going to pull the United States out of the agreement, but after being contacted by the Prime Minister of Canada and the President of Mexico with offers to renegotiate he reconsidered. The offer has been accepted and Trump is expected to push hard for a treaty more favorable for the U.S.
