Many citizens of the historic city of New Orleans have been outraged over the actions of the city council and Mayor Mitch Landrieu in removing historic statues of heroes of the Confederacy such as President Jefferson Davis, General Robert E. Lee, and General P.G.T. Beauregard. Now the anger is growing after local media reports that instead of the removed statutes being stored until other locations could be found, they have been spotted in a local scrap yard. Even some supporters of Landrieu in the local media are now accusing him of blatantly lying to New Orleans voters.
