Sheriff Clark to Join DHS

May 18, 2017

Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke has announced that he is resigning his position as sheriff to join the Department Of Homeland Security in what is being described as a liaison position between DHS and state and local authorities. Sheriff Clarke came to prominence as an outspoken critic of President Obama and his approach to race relations and the police. Clarke was by far the most important black law enforcement official to take such a position. He was also a member of the Constitutional Sheriff and Police Officers Association which is an organization dedicated to protecting constitutional rights such as the right to keep and bear arms.
