Yoav Galant, an Israeli government minister, is calling for the assassination of Syria’s Bashar Assad. "The reality in which people are executed in Syria, being hit deliberately by chemical weapons, their bodies being burned, something we haven’t seen in 70 years. In my view, we are crossing a red line. And in my view, the time has come to assassinate Assad. It’s as simple as that,” said Galant. Galant did not speculate what the consequences of removing Assad would be. The region has been plagued with turmoil and murder since the United States began removing dictators. As bad as Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi were, they kept the various factions in their countries under control. If Assad had called for the assassination of an Israeli leader, it would be an international crisis.
