When Donald Trump was campaigning for President he vowed to bring the unemployment rate down in the United States and there are new indications that this is happening. According to the latest figures from the Department of Labor as of April the number of Americans drawing unemployment benefits has dropped to its lowest number since 1988. This coupled with the fact that in the past four weeks new unemployment benefit claims have dropped to the lowest level since 1974. This is despite the fact the labor is force is much larger now. This is being seen by many economists as a sign that the recovery of the U.S. economy is speeding up.
