The Left has commandeered virtually every town hall meeting held by conservative Congressman since Trump took office. Even though these districts are heavily conservative the Left is organized and comes in force to shout down Republican legislators. Few are making a vigorous defense of conservative positions. Some have cancelled meetings rather than let themselves be filmed on the defense for the evening news. And even a few have decide to compromise thinking it will satisfy the Left.
An example of the latter is Nevada Sen. Dean Heller, one of the most vulnerable Republicans running for re-election in 2018. He made enemies of social conservatives on Monday at a town hall meeting by changing his position on Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider. He made two offensive statements to conservatives: "I will protect Planned Parenthood." And "I have no problems with federal funding for Planned Parenthood."
It’s doubtful that he swayed any on the Left to vote for him, and he lost a lot of support on the right, which is a recipe for political weakness.
