According to Zerohedge.com, quoting a South Korean news outlet, Yonhap, the Trump Pentagon has decided that North Korea needs a serious show of force to cause it to step back from Kim Jong-un’s constant threats and provocations. To do so, the Pentagon is directing two more aircraft carrier task forces to Korea waters.
The Carl Vinson task force is due to be on station by April 25, and will be joined by CVN-76 Ronald Reagan, which normally is stationed in Yokosuka, Japan as its home port. The third carrier to descend upon Korean waters will be the venerable CVN-68 Nimitz carrier group which is off the coast of Oregon doing pre-deployment checks of its combat systems.
