Taliban Control in Afghanistan Increasing

Apr 17, 2017

Despite being the longest war the US has ever engaged in, signs are increasing that despite the US of huge bombs like the 11k pound MOAB, the US and Afghanistan are not gaining ground against the Islamic fundamentalists called the Taliban. The Taliban claimed this week, after releasing a map of areas they control, that 34 districts, including the district centers, are under its full control, while other 167 districts are partially (between 40 to 99 percent of the territory) controlled by the group. It also claimed to have a significant presence (10 to 39 percent) in other 52 districts and a minimal presence in six more districts. The Taliban are not a factor in only 89 districts of the country, although they do conduct some guerrilla activities in a few of these provinces.
