Radicals Trying to Get Universities to Declare Themselves Sanctuary Campuses

Apr 17, 2017

A trend is just starting among Latino radicals to have American university campuses declared sanctuary universities. Leftist students either individually or as student organizations have gathered signatures and presented petitions at Southern Illinois University and at the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque.

Since state universities are funded by taxpayers and student tuition, this would be a violation of the rights of taxpayers and students who do not wish to fund the shielding of illegal immigrants from federal law. This trend may be the beginning of something that made Latin American universities a safe haven for communists in the 1970s and 1980s. Universities were granted autonomy from police so they quickly became places where Communist insurgents and Marxists would hide terrorists and their weapons, out of reach of the police and military.
